Today’s incident in the pitlane clearly cost Felipe Massa the victory and crucially might have cost him the title in a championship in which McLaren are making less mistakes the Ferrari. Ferrari need to take a hard look at their processes and see what has caused them to make so many mistakes this year.

While it is easy to blame the traffic lights and the controller behind it, according to Ferrari there is a mechanism which prevents the lights from going green while the fuel nozzle is still connected to the car. Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, if Ferrari are to remain in the hunt for the championship this year, these need to be last ones they make.
