After four years with Brawn GP, Rubens Barrichello is moving on to Williams.

The Press Association announced that Williams released their 2010 driver roster on Monday, making Rubens Barrichello’s transfer over from the Brawn team official. Barrichelo will act as lead driver for the Williams team and also serve as mentor for rookie Nico Hulkenberg.

Despite having released the 37-year-old Barrichello from his contract, Brawn GP head Ross Brawn praised the Brazilian for his contributions to the team.

“Rubens was with our team for four years and we regard him as a highly experienced and talented driver whose contribution to the team over that period was significant. This year was a very special season for Brawn GP and I’m extremely proud of the spirit in which our drivers fought for the championship,” he added. “Rubens contributed hugely to our success in the constructors’ championship with two great victories in Valencia and Monza, along with numerous podiums, and he was a pleasure to work with.”
