Acura RDX, a revamped luxury crossover for 2013

Acura introduced its revamped RDX for 2013 with a new V6 engine, ditching the former 4-cylinder version. Now it comes with 3.5-liter, 273 horsepower, six speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive (AWD). It still maintains 19/27/22 city/highway/combined miles per gallon. At a time where economic hardships are abundant, car buyers are selecting RDX over its pricier MDX cousin.

It comes with front side and side curtain air bags and brake assist as standard features. Other standard features include automatic transmission, heated leather seats, satellite radio, push-button start and rear view camera. The price tag starting around mid-30s seems reasonable with the other comparable cross over SUVs. Safety wise it ranks as a “Top Safety Pick” by the IIHS. The offering of four-year, 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty makes it even more appealing to the prospective customers.

Even though it is a compact cross over, the interior seems larger. It can seat four comfortably and provide much more spacious cargo space in the back or room to add another seat for two. Second raw seats fall easily to provide added trunk space if needed. Only thing that SUV lovers may dislike is its towing capacity which is only 1,500 pounds.
